Casting for the X Men: First Class

Nicholas Hoult seems to work out well as the Beast in the next X Men film.

They are actually going ahead quite fast on this film. The characters from the book are getting their actors now. One of the more interesting ones is for beast. He will be played by Nicholas Hoult who is known for his great looks. So the beast will really have a makeover this time.

The other piece of news is a confirmation that Aaron Johnson will be playing Cyclops. There is also some new cast from theater Benjamin Walker. Benjamin Walker is supposed to play someone in the young category. While Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy will play the elders in the form of Professor X and Magneto: the youngest actor of the group will be playing Beast.

Here is a small summary of who Beast is and what he will be concerning with.

When first introduced, the Beast — a mutant — possesses ape-like superhuman physical strength and agility and oversized hands and feet, though he otherwise appears to be a normal human being. Throughout his history, the Beast undergoes progressive transformations to his physiognomy, permanently gaining increasingly animalistic physical characteristics. These include blue fur, feline facial features, pointed ears, fangs, and claws. His physical power increases to even greater levels, as do his senses.

Despite his savage appearance, he is a brilliant man of the arts and sciences; he is a world authority on biochemistry and genetics, the X-Men’s medical doctor, and the science and mathematics instructor at the Xavier Institute (the X-Men’s headquarters and school for young mutants). He is also a mutant political activist. Fighting his bestial instincts and fears of social rejection, the Beast dedicates his physical and mental gifts to the creation of a better world for man and mutant. He also has a witty sense of humor.

This character will be a perfect addition to the already great cast to the film. The film will be directed by Mathew Vaughn. He was approached after the immense following of his last film Kick Ass which was less watched but much liked. Bryan Singer was initially approached but he had to let go.

There is a official synopsis for the film as well.

X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, following the classic Marvel mythology, charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga. Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Before they were archenemies, they were closest of friends, working together, with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known. In the process, a rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.

Here is some thoughts by the director on what to expect from this franchise reboot.

“It’s basically about the formation of the X-Men. How they began and the relationship between a young Xavier and a young Magneto.”
