These guys are bunch of dumbos who love to lash out against each other at the office. It seems to be a thorough waste of time. The Other Guys has nothing interesting coming out of it.

There needs to be resurgence in Will Ferrell’s part. Something like the baby Jesus talk at the dinner Table. Nothing of that sort has come from him in that last couple of years. I have a feeling his time has come.

Mark Wahlberg has still not gotten over the Happening fiasco. I can’t still imagine him speaking to trees and donkeys and bashing people at Saturday Night Live.

Eva Mendes wastes time with The other Guys

Steve Coogan is a villain in this rather silly film starring Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell. Why are people making these? The film is really just stupid fun trying to score some points with the audience. There is a lot of sweet death and release for all the silly movie goers out there.

Adam McKay is the reason for the decay of American cinema and his great muse is Will Ferrell who was really silly last year in Land of the Lost. His star capacity hit rock bottom after that film. So why is he even attempting these horrendous acts of slime time. The simple reason that is all he knows.

Now to add the sour pudding we have Eva Mendes who seems to have some of the funniest moments in the film. She plays the loser cop Will Ferrell’s wife. Mark Wahlberg can’t really take his eyes of her and calls her a nice lady.

The rest of the cast is also quite interesting but who really cares for people like Samuel Jackson, Dwayne Johnson, Michael Keaton, stripper Anne Heche, and Ray Stevenson who has no clue who got him here. There is really nothing more to say for this film just check the trailer if you want to and make sure you don’t go for this one.

Leonardo DiCaprio is just totally in thriller mode. His recent film Shutter Island already has made the box office cash registers ringing. The film has been doing its rounds with directors but it has not really pointed the finger at anyone yet. Leo has been signing films here and there.

The film follows a small town carpenter who takes matters into his own hands when is daughter and her friend are kidnapped.

The film is very much like Mystic River meets Taken that does sound all too good. But Leo can make all the difference. The film in the initial stages was attached to actors like Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg. Brian Singer who wanted to direct the film in the beginning but still a director is not attached to the project.

Acclaimed director David O. Russell who is known for his films like Flirting with Disaster, Three Kings teams up once again with Mark Wahlberg. Mark really worked hard for this film for like 2 years. But due to a lot of production delays this film got sidelined for a long time. Now finally the film has a formidable cast including Christian Bale and my all time favorite Amy Adams.

The story is about professional boxers Dickie played by Christian Bale and his half brother Mark Wahlberg. Even though they are related their careers take up two different directions. The older brother played by Christian Bale takes a lot of beatings and leads to a path of self destruction because of his lack of humility and judgment. After blowing his chance of fighting with one of the strongest fighters of our generation he gets into a life of self abuse and drug addiction.

Then there is the talent of his younger brother which does not really match the size of his heart, vanishes into early retirement. But then slowly when his brother gets out of rehab he trains his brother to get a chance at playing a world championship and gets him out of retirement.

The good thing is that it is a true story and also stars Amy Adams. I really can’t wait to see her shine in this beautiful movie. David O’Russell knows how to get his act straight with some great movies like I Heart Huckabees and stuff.

Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg in The Fighter

The film has been in the news for the casting of two formidable actors. Christian Bale has sort of been loosing his credibility with a lackluster performance in the Terminator. He seems to be playing second fiddle to some great performers. For instance in the Terminator series it was Sam Worthington who gave a startling performance. While in the Public enemies it was Johnny Depp who stole the show. But he still seems to enjoy his little corner in the Michael Mann Directed Public Ememies.

Now he has another film in the pipeline simply called The Fighter. It is directed by mad man David O Russell. His films are really well formed. He made the quirky yet poignant I heart Huckabees. The performance of Jude Law was on of the greatest in recent times. He seems to have gone into hiding and has worked out a film with Mark Wahlberg. Mark has been working for this film for couple of years. He has been working on his body so that he could be ready for this role. Finally it has arrived and it all co stars Christian Bale. There have been set of photos from the production that have come out online. So check it out after the jump and tell us what can be done.

The Fighter tells the story of Dicky Eklund (Bale), a real life boxer-turned-trainer who rebounded after a run of drugs and crime. Shepherded his half-brother “Irish” Micky Ward (Wahlberg), Dicky had a Rocky-like rise to the world lightweight championship. Ward fought throughout the mid-’80s and ’90s, but he’s best remembered for three battles with Arturo Gotti, two of which went down as the greatest in the history of the sport. Amy Adams plays “a tough, gritty bartender and former college high-jumper” who ends up dating Wahlberg’s character.Similar Posts:

Martin Scorcese produces Boardwalk Empire

HBO has pushed for the Martin Scorsese produced period drama Boardwalk Empire. The series has already been given the green light for 11 episodes (Variety). The series will revolve around the life of the 1920’s Atlantic City tycoon Nucky Thompson. He was called a gangster come politician who caused a lot of flutters in the administration. Steve Buscemi stars as Thompson. This will show a lot more what this star can do on TV. I loved his turn in the Sopranos series.

The premier of the series is targeted for next year. The production is expected to roll out by the end of September.
The series is created by Terence Winter. The first episode will be directed by Martin Scorsese, which is surely something to watch out for. The notorious Mark wahlberg will be an executive producer on this.

The series will also star Michael Pitt, Kelly Mcdonald, Michael Shannon, Shea Whigham, Dabney Coleman and Stephen Graham. we will be following this one for the next couple of months. we hopefully should get some interesting production still from this movie by January next year.
