After the teaser trailer introduced some of the main players in the sequel to the cult film Wall Street. The second trailer also gets into a little more of the story that the former. This one also doesn’t really reveal that much but it swings to the tune of Sympathy for the Devil.

Gwyneth Paltrow added to the great star cast of Contagion.

There is lot of buzz surrounding Steven Soderbergh’s next movie that already has a great cast. Steven is still putting the final touches on his new film called Knockout. But the word is that he is already readying a cast for his next film. Gwyneth Paltrow is now added to his next feature called Contagion.

The film stars Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow, Marion Cotillard and Jude Law. It is reported that its budget will be around 60 million dollars. The film is told from multiple and intertwined perspectives and revolves around the outbreak of a deadly virus taking place on four continents. This will be something special in store for this film because of the presence of such a cast.

Soderbergh and screenwriter Scott Z. Burns had discussed the idea but it was catalyzed when someone sneezed on the set of The Informant. Someone sneezed and a movie not only goes into production, but it takes priority over Soderbergh’s planned biopic of Liberace starring Michael Douglas and Damon. This will be the sixth collaboration of Matt Damon with Steven Soderbergh.

Oliver Stone seems excited about his next film.

The trailer has a really jarring rock score which kind of sounds forgettable. Oliver Stone is trying to see where his fortunes will take him with Gordon Gekko once again. The sequel to Wall Street finally debuts with a trailer. The film is titled Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.

In the trailer we see Gekko gets out of jail with some interesting accessories. Gekko looks in wonder or disappointment all that has changed over here. Then we get to see the filthy rich Josh Brolin and Gekko’s daughter played by Carey Mulligan. Her fiancé in the film is Shia LaBeouf. He is bit of a bad boy and he seems to want more from his life.

There seems to be some kind of villainy in store in the film courtesy of Oliver Stone. Stone has some good intentions with this release.

Emergind from a lengthy prison stint, Gordon Gekko finds himself on the outside of a world he once dominated. Looking to repair his damaged relationship with his daughter Gekko forms an alliance with her fiancé and Jacob begins to see him as a father figure. But Jacob learns the hard way that Gekko is still a master manipulator and player.

Here you can catch the trailer after the jump there is the poster.

Finally we have got hold of some pictures from the film.

Here are couple of images from the Wall Street sequel. It is one of the high profiles movies that will be screened in the coming months. The new images show us many of the characters in the film. There will be a poster and a trailer coming out soon for this film. The images are really good but what are we to expect from this.

Douglas is back playing Gordon Gekko and we also see one of the rare supporting performances of Josh Brolin. There is a chance he might just steal the show in this one. He was really good in his last collaboration with Oliver Stone called W. He is also playing the sweet looking westerner in Jonah Hex. Josh Brolin’s hand really full at the moment with a role in the Coen Brothers film as well called True Grit.

The rest of the cast also looks good to eat. We have Shia Labeouf and Carey Mulligan in tow with the powerhouses. This will be something watch out for in the case of Shia. He has been having a string of box office films and nothing else.

Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps will hit theaters on April 23 rd.

Here are some of the pictures with some details given below each of them. Click the images to enlarge.

Since Gekko’s heyday, a new breed of ruthless investor has taken over the financial world as represented by Josh Brolin’s banking kingpin Bretton James. In one of several scenes filmed at the Federal Reserve building, he and the chairman emeritus of the bank (Eli Wallach) have a meeting about the liquidation of a company run by Lewis Zabel (Frank Langella), who happens to be Jacob’s boss and mentor.

Stone at first considered Javier Bardem, who won a 2007 Oscar for his psycho killer in No Country for Old Men, for James. Instead, he went with Brolin, who played George W. Bush in Stone’s 2008 biopic W. “He’s the quintessential young investor,” he says of the 40-ish James. “A master of the universe.”

Winnie, standing outside her walkup brownstone in Soho, eventually suspects Jacob is in cahoots with her father, which causes a rift in their relationship. “Carey is a strong young actress who brings class and quality to the film,” says Stone, who hired the 24-year-old British breakout star after seeing her in An Education. “I cast her blind without an audition. She was a perfect match for Shia, and brought his game up.” In fact, the pair were so perfect, they are now a couple off the screen, too.

Gekko sneaks into a fancy Alzheimer’s fundraiser at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (re-created inside the Cunard Building) so he can confront James, who used to be one of his allies. Events have caused Jacob to join James’ company. “James doesn’t know that Jacob is dealing with Gekko,” Stone says. “There are a lot of betrayals in this scene.” As well as a lot of decked-out extras to fill the 60 or so tables.

Jacob walks through the cavernous lobby at his new workplace near the former site of the World Trade Center an intentional choice on Stone’s part. “We shot 56 or 57 days at 40-plus locations,” says Stone. “It’s the most locations ever done in New York. We shot in every borough of the city except for Staten Island, as well as on Long Island and in New Jersey. We used one little stage on Wall Street. And we shot in London.”

You can collect all the images here

Now the cast of the Soderbergh film seems to be growing by the day. Some the cast are still in talks. But we are sure of one person, the mean fighting machine, Gina Carano. She will lead in the front as a black ops spy who is betrayed by her team.

Channing Tatum has also joined the cast of the film. Antonio Banderas is still in talks to join the cast of the film playing the head of a black ops European unit.

There is also another set of actors also joining the crew. We have Michael Douglas, Dennis Quaid, Ewan McGregor and Michael Fassbender who is known for his work on movies like Inglourious Basterds and Hunger.

Tatum meanwhile will play on of the elite specialists on Carano’s team named Aaron. He will be a military gearhead type who is sent to try and bring her back in once she is been double crossed and gone rogue. His mission is to find out who is really setting her up. But Tatum’s role is small but who will miss a chance to act with a director like Steven Soderbergh.

The film will feature a lot of duplicity, double crosses and even reversal of allegiances. Fassbender plays an untrustworthy teammate, Douglas ultimately proves to be an ally and McGregor will play the old flame in Gina’s character and who is also instrumental in making her who she is. Dennis Quaid will play her father. Mallory Kane will play the guy who takes the fall for an incident that involves a murder.

Steven Soderbergh had approached many action male who were not really ready to be beaten by a woman. So then he approached some of his friends who were really ready to jump along for this one. This will be something of a surprise with many of the action sequels getting shelved.

Steven Soderbergh is going to dance his way in Cleo.

Steven Soderbergh has been changing his way of approaching the Cleo biopic. He is right now multitasking this with another project called Knockout. Knockout is based on a script by David Holmes.

The other film will be Liberace. It will star Matt Damon and Michael Douglas. The film will be 3D musical; Cleo will be the next one after that. There is also talk about retirement in the cards.

The Cleo film will be something in the lines of early Ken Russell works. Russell is known for his infamous stuff like The Who work called Tommy and also a comedy titled Lisztomania.

This going to be a totally different direction for Steven Soderbergh; his work will lead him into the world of the crazy. Steven also said he will want something to do akin to Ocean’s Twelve.

Soderbergh’s latest is called The Informant which is another screwball comedy. There are so many other projects for him to take that will be in the horizon.

Michael Douglas teaching Shia the ropes of surviving the economic crisis.

Wall Street sequel is being speed tracked with the support of all the actors. Michael Douglas can be seen here with Shia Labeouf. He is mentoring and showing him the ropes of the Stock trade. Wall Street 2 is one of the most expected movies of next year. It is sequel to the iconic film.

Money Never Sleeps will be the name given to this one. The film also stars the current front runner for the Oscar Carey Mulligan. She is also the new flame in Shia’s life. But this film will include the forewarning of the economic crisis and also solve a murder mystery that will be weird. But we just hope that the director Oliver Stone will make a comeback of sorts with this one. Check the Picture after the jump.

The Liberace biopic starring Michael Douglas and Matt Damon is also a go.

Steven Soderbergh is one of the most powerful directors of our time. His sensibility seems to be reforming with every passing film. His understanding of the medium seems to contain so much form that we can’t help but be a fan. He is up in his shoes with projects lined up for the future. He is already getting ready for the Matt Damon Starrer called The Informant!. There is also the other project with Matt Damon that has been in the pipeline for sometime now. The Liberace project will star Michael Douglas as the title character and Matt Damon will play his lover. But even though they never officially came out with it everyone kind of knew.

Steven Soderbergh had a conference with the French press where he spilled about the production of the film. “We’ve already done some costume and wardrobe tests on Michael, and they’re very, very, very good”. He goes on to say that “I swear to you, Michael amazed me. He crushed it.” Soderbergh also says that Matt Damon has agreed to portray longtime lover/assistant Scott Thorsen, whose 1982 palimony suit for $110 million publicly outed Liberace. The director says that “Matt accepted the challenge.”

Liberace at his peak was known to get paid even more than Elvis and the Beatles. He was easily the most recognizable face in television. The film is written by Richard Lagravence and it is being budgeted to the utmost sincerity. But this doesn’t mean Knockout will be sidelined that will be the rapid fire movie for Steven then Liberace.
