Trailer Watch: For Cannes Winner A Screaming Man

A screaming Man really looks into the exploitation of the down trodden of a country.

I think after you watch this short clip everything will be clear about what this film is going to be like. There is a lot of steady takes and even long takes that make this for really interesting viewing. The film was directed by Mahamat Saleh Haroun and it is called The Screaming Man. The film is expected to release sometime in Feb next year.

The film will be shown in various festivals till then. The sneak peak of the film gives us an inside view of Adam’s world. The film tells the story of Adam, a 60 year old former swimming champion. He is now turned into a pool attendant at a hotel in Chad. When the hotel gets taken over by new Chinese owners he is forced to give up his job to his son Abdel.

So this incident leaves Adam humiliated. The country is also in the throes of war. The rebel forces are causing a lot of unrest around the country. So the authorities have demand the people to fight. The District chief constantly harasses Adam on his contribution for the war.
